Many foreign chemical substances enter the body through food we eat, drinks and contact with our skins. This impurities get in the blood slowly and alter the normal functionalities of body parts by causing different effects that impair functionality of blood as a tool to circulate food to body cells.

Having a clean blood is a sure way to avoid most of ailments and disorders we go through everyday. Having seen the importance of having purified blood, we discuss juice as a blood purification and detoxification tool.

Detoxification

Juices from commonly found fruits and vegetables are effective than most available commercial blood purification drugs. Fruits and vegetables differ in method of juice extraction but juice is the preffered product other than eating whole fruit or vegetable. This is because a single serving of a fruit contains less nutrients than a single serving of the juice from the same fruit. The other reason is that juice takes less time to get absorbed in the body than the whole fruit or vegetable that has to be digested before absorption.

A Healthy Detoxification Diet For Your Kidneys

There are plenty of toxins that your body absorbed through air, water and food. These unwanted materials can affect your health negatively. For example, consuming traces of heavy metals can result in a number of neurological dysfunctions. Heavy metals may be contained in the contaminated and unfiltered water that you drink. At the same time, it is not possible to control totally the toxic materials that get absorbed into your body.

On its own, your body detoxifies waste products. However, sometimes, the organs engaged in the role of detoxification becomes overburdened with too much toxins. Hence, it is important to get into the habit of having a detoxification diet.

Detoxification

A detoxification diet may sound new to your ear but it is nothing extraordinary. Your detox diet should basically contain essential nutrients that can help in detoxification and excretion of toxics in your body.

A Healthy Detoxification Diet For Your Kidneys

The kidney is a vital organ that aids in the detoxification process. Although excretion is not its main function, one of its responsibilities is to remove toxic wastes outside of the body in the process of urination. The kidneys actually purify the bloodstream by eliminating body wastes. It filters toxins and other excessive substances that are no longer needed by the body. Because of the importance of the kidney in the detoxification, it is recommended that you have a detoxification diet to help your kidneys effectively flush out toxins out of your body.

If you are serious about your detoxification diet, and you should be, the first thing that you have to do is to eliminate or at least minimize your intake of salty foods. If you are the one cooking food for you and your family, lessen the use of salt when cooking. The objective of a detox diet is to primarily keep your excretory organs, such as your kidneys, to be in its top shape so that it can efficiently eliminate the toxins in your body. Although salt is said to add taste to food, salt can strain your kidneys.

A detoxification diet also requires that you drink plenty of water. The recommended amount would be 8-10 glasses each day. Water can actually reduce the risk of mineral salts into transforming into stones that can interrupt the flirtation mechanisms of your kidneys. Water intake in your detoxification diet can also reduce the risks of other possible kidney problems.

Cranberry fruit and juices should also be part of your detoxification diet. It contains proanthocyanidin that is an essential nutrient in any detox diet. This nutrient is a antioxidant that can help clean and flush out your kidneys.

It may sound tough initially to start on a detoxification diet, especially after years of consuming fast
food and processed foods. In the beginning, you may find yourself craving for salt but if you persevere enough, you can get rid of your addiction to unhealthy food. Consider adopting a detoxification diet that can provide you with great kidney health!

Detoxification - How to Detox the Human Body

The body has a very sophisticated and complex detoxification system that is working on your behalf all the time so do you need to bother with programs and plans that tell you how to detox the human body?

Researchers are noting that in spite of advances in medical treatment people are getting diseases at younger ages for which there appears to be no answers at the moment. People are surviving longer but they are in the main not healthier. Diabetes, heart disease and cancer are all on the increase. Many scientists are questioning why this is happening. There is little research into what is the underlying cause of these and other degenerative disease.

Detoxification

There is no doubt that we are all constantly bombarded with toxins that our detoxification systems were not designed for. Although our bodies seem to have an amazing capacity for developing pathways or routes to get rid of some of these chemicals researchers have discovered that we are all now contaminated with chemicals that can persist for years interfering with how our bodies work. The more pronounced the build up the greater the capacity to disrupt the intricate and delicate mechanisms that keep the body functions running smoothly.

Detoxification - How to Detox the Human Body

So how do you detox the human body and does it work? There is no doubt that it does work in spite of some very skeptical recent media reports based on some very poorly designed research on only 10 relatively young people without any particular health problems. The 9/11 New York Rescuers Detox Program has shown that a properly designed program can indeed detox the human body and improve symptoms.

Researchers have learned a lot about the how the detox system works. They have discovered specific foods, vitamins and minerals that rev up the different pathways in the liver that is main organ responsible for disarming the toxic chemicals so they can safely leave our bodies.

Naturopathic doctors and proponents of natural healing have long been advocates of cleansing or detoxifying by reducing the amounts of food eaten. They argue that resting the digestive system from the burden of dealing with three or more meals a day enables more energy to be directed towards the body's natural cleansing function.

They recommend eating only fruit or vegetable meals or freshly pressed juices and never mixing the two. The vegetables can be eaten raw, lightly steamed or made into a soup. This can be done for 2 days every week or two or for 3-4 days every 3 - 4 weeks.

The foods that you eat to help detox your body should be organically produced to avoid pesticide residues. Fruit and fresh fruit juices are generally considered to be more aggressive than vegetables for cleansing so go easy on these until you are have some experience with detoxing.

1) Include plenty of the following vegetables both raw and lightly steamed: broccoli, cabbage, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, asparagus, kale, bok choy, cress, mustard, turnips, rutabagas (swede), kohlrabi, red beets and avocados.

2) Eat at least 4 pieces of fruit a day if tolerated but in particular watermelon, papaya, oranges, tangerines but not grapefruit which inhibits liver detoxification.

3) Protein foods are needed to supply amino acids to detox chemicals. Choose 300gms a day of organic lean beef, venison, chicken, turkey, eggs or grain and bean combinations.

4) Include at least 1 tbsp a day of the following cold pressed and unheated vegetable oils on salads or vegetables: flax, walnut, pumpkin seed, olive oil or 1 tbsp of a balanced blend of oils. Vary the oils you use rather than using one exclusively. Small amounts of nuts and seeds can be eaten instead but too many can hinder the detoxification effect.

5) Drink 8 glasses of pure filtered water a day.

6) Avoid alcohol, smoking, regular tea, coffee, sugar, dairy products, wheat, the hardest grain to digest, excessive starches, processed foods, hydrogenated oils, artificial colours and additives.

7) Use a water filter and consider a shower filter or whole house filtration system.

8) Avoid chemicals as much as possible by using natural cleaning products in the home and garden. Use only natural non-chemical products on your skin. The skin absorbs a surprising amount of toxic substances from personal care products and make up.

9) Limit fish especially oily fish such as tuna , swordfish and eel which are likely to contain mercury as well as other toxic pollutants from the sea.

10) Do not run or exercise near traffic.

11) Take a good multivitamin mineral supplement with approximately 25 mg of the main B vitamins. A fibre supplement to ensure frequent bowel movements to eliminate toxins. Take a neutral PH or non-acidic (buffered) Vitamin C, 1 - 3 grams a day. Alternatively consider a supplement designed to support liver detoxification.

12) Do some skin brushing to help move the lymphatic circulation or consider massage to help mobilise the toxins. Far infrared saunas can help sweat out the toxins.

Periodic detoxification programs that rest the digestive system and support the detox pathways with foods and nutrients known to improve detoxification there is no doubt that you can improve your health. You should continue to follow a nutritious diet and avoid toxins as far as possible in between detoxification periods.

Natural Hair Loss Remedies

Fact: There is no sure-fire way to prevent all hair loss. However, some methods that have been used work on some people. Here are some suggestions for natural remedies to hair loss. Massage Massaging the scalp in general for a couple of minutes a day can stimulate blood flow to the hair follicles and in mild cases stimulate some hair growth in minor cases of temporary hair loss. There are several electric massagers on the market that have an attachment for scalp massaging as well. An oriental method called Qi Gong (pronounced Chi Kung) has been used to increase circulation to the scalp and face also. Aromatherapy A blend of six drops each of lavender and bay essential oils in a base of four ounces of either almond, soybean or sesame oil massaged into the scalp and allowed to sit for 20 minutes has been used by aroma therapists to stimulate the scalp. Saw Palmetto Extract There is a definite connection between the prostate and hair loss for men. Saw Palmetto has been found to work in fighting benign prostatic disease by lowering levels of DHT, which is a known cause of androgenetic alopecia. Saw Palmetto extract is an effective anti-androgen and shows promise as an effective treatment for hair loss prevention. More information on Saw Palmetto for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Women on oral contraceptives or hormone therapy should not take Saw Palmetto. Nettle Root Extract Nettles are rich in vitamins A and C, several key minerals and lipids that can be beneficial to the hair. Nettle Root Extract has been used successfully in Europe as an inhibitor of 5-alpha reductase in treating BPH. Rosemary and Sage Rosemary and sage are two herbs that have shown benefit traditionally when used externally. Boil together in water rosemary, sage, peach leaf, nettle and burdock. Then strain the loose herbs from the liquid and use the liquid to wash the hair daily. Jojoba Oil If you are predisposed to seborrhea, eczema, psoriasis, or dandruff, you could consider using jojoba oil. Mexicans and southwestern Native American nations have used jojoba oil traditionally for centuries to promote hair growth and the control of dandruff. Jojoba oil is great for hypoallergenic skin because it is a great moisturizer and mimics the scalp's own sebum. Aloe Vera Aloe Vera has been used by Native Americans, Indians and many in the Caribbean to promote healthy hair and prevent hair loss. Aloe's can help the scalp by healing it and balancing the pH level of the scalp while cleansing the pores. A common preparation of Aloe Vera gel with a small amount of wheat germ oil and coconut milk is used as a shampoo and has traditionally shown great benefit. Henna Henna is a traditional Indian herb that acts as a natural conditioner and is excellent for the maintenance of healthy hair. It can help heal the hair shaft by repairing and sealing the cuticle, protecting hair against breakage and loss of shine. Polysorbate-80 Polysorbate-80 is an FDA approved surfactant that is also approved as a food additive. Although not proven, Polysorbate-80 is said to remove deposits of DHT and cholesterol from the scalp. Polysorbate-80 is being recommended by some naturopathic practitioners as an application for the scalp approximately 15 minutes prior to shampooing. Cleansing and Detoxification Cleansing should be a major part of your regimen to maintain and grow hair. Many scalp related diseases are directly the result of toxemia, while toxins in the body adversely affecting the body's systems indirectly affect other conditions. Cleansing can be performed through oral means regularly and occasionally by enema or colonic irrigation. More remedies for detoxification Psyllium husk Fiber is vital to cleansing, and most North American diets are deficient in natural fiber. Psyllium husk is a bulking laxative agent that can be used to safely move waste through the colon. Psyllium is a very good substance as it gently scrubs the walls of the colon to remove waste that is stuck to the walls.

Exercise Finally, although exercise does absolutely nothing directly to grow hair, most holistic practitioners recommend it. Exercising can improve blood flow, the delivery of oxygen to the cells of the body, and help the digestion of foods, all things that aid the health of hair follicles.
